A Complain on Replacing a Playground with a Shopping Mall.

Dear Mr Lee Guan Ming,

        

                        I am the President of Bandar Utama Residents' Association. I am writing on behalf of the other residents because a chain is no stronger than its weakest link. 

         

                        It has come to our knowledge that the playground which has been around for a baker's dozen years will be demolished. The playground is  place where a group of residents and a crowd of children love to go to play and enjoy themselves. The adults like to exercise in the playground while the children play on the slides, see-saws and swings.

                        The length of the playground is 13m and the width of the playground is 15m. The playground is full of trees and flowers for shade. The residents, especially the children, will feel as sad as twilight and as angry as a wasp when the playground is gone. The advantages of having a playground are; the residents will be able to play and exercise in the the playground and it brings liveliness to the residential estate. By building a mall, there will be many disadvantages that bring about much unhappiness among the residents. With the mall, the residents will not have the playground. The adults will not be able to exercise in the playground while the children will not be able to play in the playground. There could also be more traffic jam as shoppers drive in and out of the mall. This creates more noise and air pollution. The environment in the residents estate will not be peaceful and a healthy to live in. The residents think that a bird in hand is worth two in a bush.

                        In conclusion, based on the above reasons, the residents of Bandar Utama are all in one voice that we are against the idea of developing a mall in the estate. We want to see the playground to stay allowing ourselves and the children to enjoy the benefits that the playground give to us.
