A Talk on Using Modern Technology

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

I am the President of the Jasema School's Computer Club. The computer club offers lessons to teach old folks computer skills for free.

I understand that all of you come from the residential area near our school. My intention is to persuade you to pick up computer skills. I am going to try to persuade you to use computers because there are many benefits to it. You should not be afraid of using modern technology because of the benefits we can derive from them. Modern technology can help us in many ways. Even at your age you should not live in an ivory tower.Picking up computer skills is not as difficult you may think. In fact it is as easy as ABC. Do not be afraid of failing. If you fall down seven times, stand up eight. Just keep on practicing. Rest assured that failure is the stepping stone to success. Being physically old does not mean that you are mentally as old as the hills. You will be able to pick up these skills as quick as silver under the guidance of my club members. For those of you who think that you will be as slow as a snail do not worry because with practice, you will be able to progress faster. Let us get away from sedentary lifestyle and pick up computer skills. We can turn our lives to be alive and kicking. By allowing our mind to be idle, we will slip into depression and be susceptible to suffering from many diseases. By learning computer skills you can in turn teach other people such as your own grandchildren. The benefits of being able to use the computer and the Internet is that you can search for information on hobbies and interest, keep in touch with family and friends, ability to join social networking sites to expand network of friends and get instant world news.        

My acquaintances and I will guide you through on the usage of computers and the Internet. We will not charge you any fees at all. There will be a learning session every week. It will be conducted on every Thursday. Each session is two hours long. We look forward to see you joining us soon.
