A supermarket chain is planning to builded a new store on the land which is currently used by local youngsters to play sports and has a children's playground.

The supermarket chain says that it will create up to 60 jobs and will give shoppers more choices. Those opposing the plan believe it will put local shops out of business and destroy a valuable amenity for youngsters.

The newspaper has invited readers to give their views on the plan.

Re: Supermarket Establishment in Hartamas

I am wrting to you to discuss the establishment of a supermarket in Hartamas. The name of the supermarket chain is 'Something'. The new outlet will be built on a children's playground and field where kids play sports. The amenities that will be taken away to give way to the new building are the playground and field. However, every rose has its thorn. The idea of creating a new supermarket  chain is frowned upon by certain groups of people in the community.

I support the movement of the supermarket chain. As for myself, I do not stand on the fence for I support the establishment  of the supermarket. The benefits are, it can give shoppers more choices and will reduce the number of unemployment. There will be more choices of things to buy like shirts and shoes, a wider price range and more types of quality and designs to chose from. By building the supermarket, sixty jobs will be created. Thus, employing a huge staff of employees and reducing the number of unemployment. There will be many types of jobs available such as a doork of security guards and a school of clerks. This also gives the community an easier access to services and supplies. However, by allowing the supermarket chain to establish another outlet may lead to an unwanted number of labourers that can cause a breach in security. Although this is only a short term problem, it can be outweighed by the long term benefits derived from the establishment of the supermarket. 

In my opinion, the supermarket will give us a lot of benefits and and we have no reason to stop the establishment of the building. So let's get down to brass tacks by supporting the establishment of the supermarket so the residents of Hartamas can enjoy the benefits that are not available now.
