Save Our Park!
Dear Mr Lee Gok Ming,
I am the Head Of Kota Damansara Residential Estate. I am writing this letter because the Kota Damansara Residential Estate have heard the news that the park in Kota Damansara will be replaced by a parking complex. We, in one voice, do not want our precious park to be replaced for commercial use.
The park is twice as big as a football field. There are slides, swings, see-saws and health and fitness facilities available in the park. The park is open at all time. Big tress and small tress are planted in the park for shade. The residents are the ones who planted the trees. Many residents, both the adults and children love to go to the park because there are many facilities that they can make full use of. Sometimes, they bring their pets for a stroll. The park is a place where residents relax and chat up with one another under the trees. Entrance in the park is free for all.
As the park belong to everyone, each and everyone of us voluntarily maintain the cleanliness of the park. The residents take their own responsibility to take good care of the park because the clean environment will make it even more attractive and conducive for all sorts of activities to be held at the park. The park is over a baker's dozen years but it looks brand new . Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hari Raya and Deepavali celebrations are held in the park. The events in the park help to foster a healthy relationship among the residents. It is an opportunity for everyone to gather and get to know one another.
The advantages of having a park is people will have a suitable place to jog and exercise. Children can play on the slides and swings and play games like hopscotch. The reflexology path is another main attraction to the park. There are very few disadvantages of having a park like the possibility of breeding mosquitoes if it is not well-maintained and noises coming from the children playing. However there are more advantages than disadvantages of a park.
The advantages of a parking complex is that more parking lots will be available to accommodate the increasing numbers of cars in the residence. The disadvantages of having a parking complex is it can be a source of air pollution coming from the vehicles. The parking complex may cause traffic jam as more vehicles are moving into the park in the parking complex and there will be more irritating noise like the horning of the vehicles and the roaring sounds of the engines disturbing the sleep of the young and old. The residents will feel as sad as twilight and as angry as a wasp if the park is replaced with a parking complex. The relationship between the residents will no longerchool be as strong as it use to be.
I hope that the authority will consider our plight to let our remain untouched. Happiness of the residents is peace to the society.
